As the second set of FIRST Robotics Regionals begin, it is safe to say that problems are now easier to recognize and diagnose. As reported by Michael "Special K" Krass of the Mechanical Marauders, Team #271, traction was the biggest issue of the day during the practice rounds at the Long Island Regional Competition. Many robots were unable to go over the bridge while dragging goals. This shall definitely play a large factor in strategizing matches tomorrow and Saturday. Also, another suggestion I read on the Chiefdelphi forum was for teams to bring a dry-erase board with them into matches. Drawing a nice diagram of a winning strategy is much easier to understand than trying to explain it in words. So, plan for the worst, hope for the best, and be prepared to explain it all in 2 minutes!
