I got to see the morning's matches at the NASA Langley/VCU Regional competition.  The scoring there was amazingly low, in my opinion.  I did not see any team even try to balance two goals.  No one seemed to have the grabbers/traction to do so.  Some teams were even having trouble with traction to get over the bridge.  Many robots fell over at the base of the bridge.  I think this is a key point to strategy; being able to diagnose exactly how well your robot functions, besides its "theoretical" abilities.  I think many of the robots at VCU are designed to grab both goals, but so far, I've seen no attempts, resulting in the low scoring.  I think the highest match score of the day was around 177 or so.  For the teams attending the Silicon Valley Competition, treat this (or my report of it) as a learning experience to carry to our regional.
