The overview of today's regional matches was interesting.  Scoring at the Long Island Regional went up compared to yesterday.  There were a handful of 400+ point matches to talk about, especially match 6 of the second semi-final, where a last minute shot by the human player at a balanced goal changed the course of the entire tournament.  At VCU, scoring was consistently low with the lack of ability to balance 2 goals on the bridge.  The high score of the day was 212, posted in the finals.  By the way, congratulations to Metal-in-Motion for their second regional championship of 2001.  At West Michigan, the scoring was high like the previous day, with Team Hammond clearing the field with their ability to balance both goals from off the bridge.  They posted a high score of 620 in the finals, which was amazing to say the least (LA robots have got their work cut out for them if they want Jason to win the bet!).  Well, with this week over with, I look forward to seeing the outcome of the next set of regionals, as we approach Silicon Valley on the 22nd!
